The Toyshop library is a collection of sampled exotic instruments and various household items for Native Instruments' Kontakt Sampler.
The library includes things like:
- Plucked, hammered, e-bowed...
..Dulcimers
..Bouzoukis
..Miniature Harps
- Toy pianos
- Pots and pans (pitched and percussive)
- Loops made chopping up acoustic guitar rhythms
Fellow game composer Mike Skalandunas and I recorded the first round of instruments in November 2011, mainly with Shure SM81 mics.
The Toyshop grows day by day, as it gets refined for more flexibility. Also, there's always something cool lying around flea markets that just has to get sampled!
